I guess it’s easier for him to say this now that he isn’t trying to get votes and the climate has shifted even more toward gay rights nationally – however slight. But, at least he is saying it. He doesn’t have to… and for that I’m thankful. Maybe it seems too little too late to some, but it’s better than remaining quiet. A lot of people still respect him and this interview was seen by a lot of people. It does help. Every little bit helps. Now if we could only get people into office who’d actually stick their necks out while they are in Washington… I don’t think it would be the political suicide that it once was.
